AnaVation is hiring a Systems Engineer

AnaVation is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. You will plan, design, and implement enhancements to network hardware, server infrastructure, and operating systems for a mission-critical forensic and investigative ecosystem. Your work will ensure this infrastructure remains secure, resilient, and reliable across multi-enclave environments.

What You'll Do

• Supervise, coordinate, design, develop, and implement additions and changes to network hardware, infrastructure server environments, and operating systems.
• Provide direct support for the day-to-day operations of network hardware and operating systems.
• Troubleshoot at both physical and logical network levels.
• Participate in planning, design, technical review, and implementation for new network infrastructure.
• Perform systems management and integration functions across multi-enclave environments.
• Maintain network infrastructure standards including communication protocols such as TCP/IP.
• Diagnose and resolve complex communication problems.
• Ensure systems are current with approved patches and assist with certification and accreditation tasks.
• Develop strategy for client/server systems and design infrastructure to support that strategy.
• Advise on selection of technological purchases for processing, data storage, data access, and applications development.
• Participate in Program Increments (PIs) and Agile Release Train (ART) activities.

What We're Looking For

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.
• An active Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) with a CI polygraph.
• Understanding of forensic and investigative system requirements.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing secure systems in government environments.
• Expert Linux skills and experience engineering, deploying, and sustaining both cloud-based and on-premises environments.
• Advanced proficiency with: Virtualization technologies (VSphere, VXRail, Proxmox, Nutanix).
• Advanced proficiency with: Network administration and security.
• Advanced proficiency with: Cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, SC2S, C2S).
• Advanced proficiency with: Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Advanced proficiency with: Windows Active Directory.
• Advanced proficiency with: Network hardware (Cisco, Arista, SonicWall).
• Advanced proficiency with: Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Advanced proficiency with: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Advanced proficiency with: Security accreditation processes.
• Advanced proficiency with: Hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Advanced proficiency with: DevSecOps practices and tools.
• Advanced proficiency with: Elasticsearch, Splunk, and other data platforms.
• Advanced proficiency with: Python and C# for automation and scripting.
• Advanced proficiency with: Database technologies (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Advanced proficiency with: LDAP/OpenLDAP, ADFS, Keycloak.
• Advanced proficiency with: Tunneling protocols (GRE, IPSec, SSH, SSL).
• Hands-on experience supporting Kubernetes/Docker containerized deployments.
• Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and automation technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
• Experience with virtualization platforms and environments.

Nice to Have

• Relevant systems and cloud certifications.
• Experience with Nutanix and/or Terraform.
• DevSecOps practices and tools.
