Northrop Grumman Space Systems is hiring a Systems Engineer to serve as a Product Owner, leading the definition, prioritization, and delivery of features for our product suite. You will act as the voice of production and end-users, collaborating closely with a development team and stakeholders to ensure the product backlog aligns with business goals and user needs.
What You'll Do
- Prioritize, prune, and maintain a healthy product backlog.
- Write, refine, and accept clear, testable user stories aligned with product vision.
- Liaise with customers, end-users, production, and development teams to gather requirements and feedback.
- Serve as the primary advocate for production and user experience.
- Lead increment planning sessions and ensure the team has a well-defined set of work for each sprint.
- Participate actively in story and epic pointing activities.
- Work closely with a small development team, providing continuous feedback and removing impediments.
- Mentor the team on standard NG‑Agile story and epic processes.
- Partner with the Lead to track Earned Value Management metrics and use data to drive decisions.
- Monitor delivery performance and adjust priorities as needed.
- Leverage direct experience with end‑users to influence product decisions and ensure a seamless user experience.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of relevant experience; 10 years with a Master's; 8 years with a PhD.
- Agile experience as a Product Owner or similar role.
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management or comparable performance metrics.
- Hands‑on experience with increment planning and story/epic pointing.
- Must have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of application.
Nice to Have
- Direct exposure to end‑users or production environments, demonstrating empathy for user experience.
- Experience in regulated or high‑volume production settings.
- Certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent Agile credentials.
Team & Environment
You will join and lead work for a small (≤ 8 members) development team in a collaborative, agile environment.

- Compensation range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00.
