MiWay is looking for a Systems Architect I to join our team, responsible for managing and overseeing the people, processes, and technologies delivering Sanlam's Directory & Logical Access Platforms & Services. You will ensure these critical services meet business reliability and capacity requirements while driving technical excellence.
What You'll Do
- Implement and operate Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services in accordance with business reliability and capacity requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, developers, and architects to understand requirements and constraints.
- Engage actively with technology partners to deliver integrated solutions across platforms.
- Collaborate with Security Architecture, IAM (Identity and Access Management), and Role Based Access platform teams.
- Design and implement procedures and best practices for Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services.
- Manage budgets, contracts, and procurement for services and software related to your domain.
- Research and recommend policies to protect information assets from unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure.
- Stay current with industry trends, threats, and best practices in Directory Services, Privileged Access, Cloud Identity, RBAC, and security.
- Appoint, develop, and retain talent for the Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services team.
- Ensure appropriate standards, patterns, best practices, and operational maturity models are in place and monitored.
- Mentor team members and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee the Product Development Lifecycle for your domain, continuously refining processes to deliver business value.
- Implement and mature Agile and DevOps tooling and practices for the environment.
- Prioritize efforts with cross-functional teams.
What We're Looking For
- Matric.
- A relevant IT qualification.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in technology roles.
- 5 years in solution architecture and systems design.
- Experience leading and managing a team.
- Experience working in a hybrid- and multi-cloud environment (AWS preferred) and cloud technologies (AWS & Azure preferred).
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Experience in cloud security concepts.
- Experience operating and engineering solutions in a Cloud-focused organization.
- Proven experience delivering and managing Directory & Logical Access Platforms & Services, Access Management & authorization solutions (RBAC, PBAC, ABAC, IDP), Identity Governance, and/or IAM technologies.
- Proven experience delivering long-term, repeatable IaC solutions into an overall CI/CD process.
- Proven experience deploying and configuring Cloud Services using Terraform.
- Exposure to or understanding of Project Management Principles.
- Experience in a DevOps environment, including proven CI/CD experience with technologies such as GitLab or GitHub, Nexus.
- Knowledge of JSON templates, PowerShell, CLI’s, Shell, Python.
- Understanding of Cloud technologies and best practices, Networking in Public and Hybrid Cloud environments, Network protocols, network architecture, and security.
- Understanding of virtualization technologies, such as VMWare, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of Security Architecture concepts including encryption, authentication, database security, Identity Providers, Enterprise single sign-on (SSO), Federated SSO, multi-factor authentication, and API security.
Nice to Have
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
