NOVACARD is hiring a System Analyst (Engagement team)

About the Role

What You'll Do

Translate business initiatives into precise technical requirements by working closely with stakeholders across time zones. Design integration patterns using REST APIs and define clear JSON contracts to support seamless data exchange.

Model system behavior and workflows using BPMN and UML, including sequence and activity diagrams, to ensure shared understanding across teams. Break down large initiatives into manageable development tasks and write detailed user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.

Support engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle by clarifying requirements, participating in sprint planning, and refining backlogs. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in Confluence to ensure knowledge is accessible and reliable.

Collaborate with technical support to investigate and resolve escalated incidents, contributing to root cause analysis and long-term system improvements.

Requirements

  • Proficient in English with the ability to read and interpret technical documentation
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a System Analyst, ideally in product development or integration projects
  • Familiarity with REST API fundamentals including HTTP methods, status codes, headers, and idempotency
  • Hands-on experience using tools like Swagger and Postman for API testing and documentation
  • Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries with multiple JOINs and understanding PostgreSQL schema design
  • Proven ability to create clear, structured diagrams using BPMN and UML standards
  • Experience producing technical specifications and maintaining detailed system documentation

Preferred Background

  • Exposure to message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • Prior work in banking, fintech, or e-commerce domains
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and its implications for system design
