About the Role

AnaVation is hiring a System Administrator to install, configure, operate, and sustain enterprise infrastructure systems in a mission-critical environment. You will be responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of Linux, Windows, and VMware systems across both on-premises and cloud-based environments.

What You'll Do

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating system workstations and servers.
  • Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Schedule installations and upgrades in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Ensure workstation/server data integrity by implementing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
  • Ensure data/media recoverability through system backups and database archive operations.
  • Develop and promote standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with standards and configurations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration databases.
  • Support analytical tool infrastructure.
  • Participate in Program Increments (PIs) and Agile Release Train (ART) activities.
  • Respond to and resolve critical incidents within designated resolution timeline.
  • Run vulnerability scanning tools, analyze findings, and apply remediation actions.
  • Support AWS cloud deployments.
  • Work with identity and access management technologies, including Keycloak and SAML.
  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of containerized tools and services, including managing Docker images.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems engineering or related field.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) with a CI polygraph.
  • Understanding of forensic and investigative system requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing secure systems in government environments.
  • Advanced proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Windows Active Directory.
  • Advanced proficiency with Virtualization technologies (VSphere, VXRail, Proxmox).
  • Advanced proficiency with Basic network configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced proficiency with System monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Advanced proficiency with Backup and recovery procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency with Security patching and updates.
  • Advanced proficiency with Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
  • Advanced proficiency with Complex multi-enclave environments.
  • Advanced proficiency with Advanced system security hardening.
  • Advanced proficiency with High-availability system configurations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Advanced proficiency with Advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Advanced proficiency with System automation and orchestration.
  • Advanced proficiency with Performance optimization techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency with Capacity planning and resource management.
  • Advanced proficiency with Security accreditation processes.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Splunk, and other data platforms.
  • Experience with SAFe Agile methodologies.
  • Relevant systems and cloud certifications.
  • Experience with Nutanix and/or Terraform.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and tools.
