Topographic, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Survey Technician I to join our team. In this role, you will execute technically complex land surveying assignments and review survey maps and documents for technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
- Perform research from county, city, and other sources of record information to prepare working sketches for field crews.
- Utilize Trimble Business Center software to process field crew data and produce files for import into AutoCAD.
- Use field crew data files, sketches, photos, and reference maps to create survey base drawings.
- Utilize AutoCAD software to produce detailed subdivision maps, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and other various survey-related exhibits.
- Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for right of way, easements, acquisition parcels, and other purposes.
- Perform QA/QC procedures on work prepared by yourself and others.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of mathematics used in field survey analysis.
- Thorough understanding and ability to apply methods and standards of technical report writing and computer-assisted surveying applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret a variety of maps, title reports, and legal descriptions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software used to draft reports and letters.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
