Westminster City Council is hiring a part-time Supporting Teaching and Learning Tutor for the Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES). In this role, you will be responsible for training and qualifying the learning and support staff of tomorrow. You will deliver high-quality taught sessions, assess learners in their workplaces, and ensure learners are enrolled on the correct programme for their development.
What You'll Do
- Deliver high-quality taught sessions that include theory and practical demonstrations.
- Assess learners in the workplace and provide useful, constructive feedback.
- Ensure lessons are well-prepared and all teaching materials are suitably developed.
- Carry out marking and assessment to a high standard and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all learners are on the correct programme for their individual needs.
- Create Individual Learning Plans, monitor learner progress, and make referrals to Learning Support when necessary.
- Keep an up-to-date register and track learner attendance accurately.
- Work with your team to develop and implement enrichment activities for learners.
What We're Looking For
- Experience teaching and assessing Supporting Teaching and Learning qualifications in a post-sixteen or adult education setting.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- First-hand experience of working in a school environment.
- A teaching qualification (PTLLS as a minimum).
- A Level 3 Diploma or higher in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
- Proven experience in assessing learning in the workplace.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Experience using e-portfolio systems and strong general IT skills.
- Demonstrable teamwork skills.
Nice to Have
- An assessing qualification (D32/A1/TAQA) or actively working towards one.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: £35.59 per hour.

This is an onsite position. Your primary work location will be at 219 Lisson Grove, London, NW8 8LW.
