SingleStore is looking for a Support Engineer to be a technical subject matter expert on the frontlines of our most critical customer issues. Our customers use our database to push boundaries with some of the world's most interesting data, and they rely on your deep engineering expertise to resolve complex problems involving database internals, Linux configurations, and SQL query behavior.
What You'll Do
- Provide email and live technical support to enterprise customers as the first line of defense for complex technical issues, bug diagnosis, and critical outages.
- Identify and reproduce product issues, perform QA, and submit formal bug reports or feature requests to the appropriate Engineering team.
- Collaborate closely with software developers, sales engineers, and technical account managers to keep all teams updated on customer issues.
- Work to streamline and improve various Support and Engineering processes and tools, author internal run-books or public documentation, and help the team improve efficiency.
- Ensure customers have a positive support experience during every interaction.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of advanced customer-facing technical support experience.
- Experience with MySQL or MySQL-like databases (MariaDB, Aurora) and SQL Query Optimization.
- A solid sysadmin, QA, and testing skill set: comfortable testing software, hands-on with Linux, checking system I/O and network throughput, and navigating large log files. Familiarity with Kubernetes and Testing/QA experience.
- Experience with a scripting or coding language like Python, Bash, or Go, with the ability to use it for problem-solving and navigate a code base.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and AWS/GCP, understanding how organizations deploy distributed applications.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a wide range of end-users.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of how to analyze distributed systems for performance bottlenecks and remove single points of failure.

Benefits & Compensation
- Annual salary range of $105,000 - $140,000 USD (if based in California, Oregon, or Washington).
Work Mode
This role is open to candidates in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Raleigh, Seattle, Boston, London, Lisbon, Bangalore, Dublin, and Kyiv.
