What You'll Do
Lead the evolution of a real-time platform by improving system efficiency, reliability, and cost performance. You'll write production code while guiding infrastructure strategy across engineering teams, ensuring systems scale intelligently and remain resilient under load.
Take ownership of cloud spending by identifying inefficiencies and implementing rightsizing initiatives that deliver measurable savings. Build internal tooling and safeguards to prevent cost regressions and maintain platform health over time.
Enhance observability across services, define meaningful SLOs, and strengthen core systems that underpin all product offerings. Play a central role in evaluating Kubernetes adoption, shaping database architecture, and guiding cloud provider strategy—including potential migrations.
Help define long-term technical direction, set engineering standards, and collaborate closely with product and SDK teams to maintain a fast, reliable developer experience.
Requirements
You have a background in software engineering with a focus on building systems, not just configuring them. You've worked extensively with Go or Python in backend or platform roles, writing more than just scripts.
Proven experience managing large-scale AWS or GCP environments with a focus on cost optimization and measurable outcomes is essential. You understand distributed systems and have made real decisions around database schema, replication strategies, and latency constraints.
You’ve led technical projects while staying hands-on with code, capable of driving a design decision one day and submitting a PR the next. You thrive in small teams of 3–5 engineers, operating independently without heavy organizational support.
You actively use AI tools in your development workflow and believe in their practical value, not just theoretical potential.
