Bombardier is looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies and leading contract negotiations to support our large aerospace manufacturing operations. You will manage supplier relationships, drive cost reduction, and provide commercial expertise to business units.
What You'll Do
- Develop new sources of supply and establish strategic alliances.
- Develop negotiation business strategies and lead contract negotiations with suppliers.
- Lead and participate in commodity development projects, including preparing business cases.
- Develop and execute commodity strategy, providing project and negotiation statuses to senior management.
- Identify, analyze, and realize cost reduction opportunities.
- Act as the single interface with suppliers for new business.
- Support Sites and Business Units with appropriate sourcing strategies.
- Coordinate and lead negotiations of claims with suppliers to support production issues.
- Support Business Units in applying contractual remedies for material breaches.
- Ensure contracts are maintained according to business requirements.
- Coordinate Procurement Agents' activities related to balanced scorecard objectives and plans.
- Support Procurement Agents in contract negotiations, commercial agreements, and amendments.
- Participate in the governance of cost reduction initiatives to ensure project completion.
- Actively participate in supplier program reviews led by business units.
- Develop and coach team members on procurement initiatives and processes.
- Support the commodity manager in the performance development plan process.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of direct contract negotiation and drafting experience in a large, complex manufacturing organization.
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience in project management.
- Managed a contract portfolio of at least $10M in annual spend.
- Demonstrated experience in executive-level presentations, including business cases and strategy updates.
- Detail-oriented, focused, and committed to meeting deadlines.
- Strong team player, recognized for leadership and innovation, with the ability to mobilize a team.
- High proficiency in French and English (written and spoken).
- Strong capabilities in operations and financial management.
- Comfortable with complex technical topics and knowledgeable in legal terminology or contract interpretation.
- Familiar with Just-In-Time purchasing logistics, integrated supply chain, and lean manufacturing concepts.
- Proficient with MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Able to travel for work on occasion.
- Able to work from one of our Montreal sites at least two days per week, sometimes more.
Nice to Have
- 12+ years of direct contract negotiation and drafting experience in a large, complex manufacturing organization.
- Experience in the aerospace industry and/or manufacturing environment and/or program management, in a commercial role.
