Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a SUBS Grant Analyst to join its Office of Sponsored Research Services. In this remote role, you will provide compliance enforcement, expert advice, and training related to research administration. You will be responsible for preparing, negotiating, and administering outgoing subagreements for sponsored research activities across the university.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, review, and negotiate outgoing subagreements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory, legal, and compliance rules affecting sponsored research agreements.
- Provide detail-oriented review of SUBSystem Required Items and enforce compliance with university, school, and external agency policies.
- Analyze sponsored research awards for required flow down terms and active assurances to prepare appropriate outgoing subaward agreements.
- Manage workload using status transparency for prioritization and ensure timely submission of subawards for approval.
- Administer and manage the SUBS template portfolio of attachments, institutional database, and internal Process documents.
- Create and approve Supplier Contracts and Amendments in Workday for subrecipient funding encumbrances.
- Provide expert advice and training to university research administrators and faculty on research administration processes and policies.
- Manage FFATA reporting using SUBSystem FFATA reports and fsrs.gov.
- Prepare weekly status report of SUBS teamwork load to facilitate prioritization.
- Assist Manager with special projects and perform other tasks as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 year of Research Administration experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with sponsored research administration in a large university environment.
- Experience with accounting principles, federal and non-federal pre and post-award policies, and university allowable cost principles.
- Knowledge of university’s organization and policies/procedures.
- Knowledge of the Uniform Guidance (UG).
- Knowledge of and ability to negotiate key contract terms and conditions.
- Skills in areas such as: Accounting Processes, Analytical Thinking, Critical Analysis, Customer Service, Deadline Management, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Microsoft Office, Multitasking, Negotiation, Prioritization, and Written Communication.

- Salary range: $53,100.00 - $90,600.00 annually.
