Mercy Corps is hiring a Strategic Pricing Advisor, UK, NL, Jordan, or Kenya (remote flexible)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating pricing strategies for funding opportunities alongside the Strategic Pricing Senior Manager and proposal teams.
  • Help develop cost proposals that are both compliant and competitive.
  • Review budget assumptions, scenarios, calculations, and supporting documents to verify consistency and accuracy.
  • Act as a finance partner during proposal development, aiding teams with budget creation and financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Regional teams to evaluate financial feasibility and commercial pricing options.
  • Support the creation of proposal pricing approaches, including cost analysis and value-for-money considerations.
  • Help assess commercial models and partner arrangements when applicable.
  • Support partnership and consortium budget development, coordinating with international and local partners.
  • Develop compliant budgets and cost proposals for a variety of donors and client-facing situations.
  • Work with technical and operational teams to turn program designs into realistic and implementable budgets.
  • Contribute to internal budget reviews by identifying assumptions, risks, and areas needing further analysis.
  • Support pre-positioning efforts through financial research and preliminary budget modeling.
  • Help maintain proposal development tools, templates, and financial resources.
  • Conduct financial analysis to inform proposal pricing decisions and identify key cost drivers.
  • Assist in evaluating financial and commercial risks related to funding opportunities.
  • Support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for strategic proposals.
  • Gather and analyze market and donor information to support pricing recommendations.
  • Maintain pricing benchmarks and support analysis of sector trends and funding practices.
  • Escalate significant pricing, compliance, or financial risks to the Strategic Pricing Senior Manager.
  • Provide guidance and support to Country and Regional teams on budgeting and pricing processes.
  • Assist in delivering training on proposal budgeting, cost proposal development, and pricing best practices.
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining budgeting tools, guidance documents, and training materials.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and consistent application of pricing standards across the organization.
