Responsibilities
- Oversee the fabrication and erection of steel structures.
- Conduct site inspections and request materials for segregating stakes used in erection.
- Coordinate and control erection activities to meet project schedules.
- Review method statements and risk assessments submitted by contractors.
- Monitor and witness all construction and field activities to track project progress.
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure orderly and efficient completion of work, inspect work packages, and recommend sign-offs to the construction department.
- Maintain and control site technical work instructions and records.
- Participate in refinery shutdown activities.
- Ensure all project staff follow health and safety hazard protocols and project-specific requirements.
- Coordinate work permits.
- Prepare and obtain work permits, conduct daily toolbox meetings, and perform job safety analyses.
- Evaluate subcontractors' work capabilities against implementation programs.
- Perform material take-offs (MTO) and update them progressively to control material procurement and usage.
- Resolve technical problems or issues encountered at the worksite.
- Study and evaluate work sequences and methods.
- Prepare red-line markups for Engineering to submit as-built drawings to clients.
- Liaise with client representatives and coordinate with other department supervisors for effective work coordination.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental operating procedures.
- Report and resolve fabrication and drawing errors found on site.
- Compare actual quantities with engineering quantities.
- Supervise and ensure safe conditions at the construction site in cooperation with the safety department.
- Supervise and ensure construction quality meets project specifications and the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
- Ensure necessary construction drawings and materials are available before construction implementation.
- Manage construction progress by checking daily, weekly, and monthly work quantities.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly construction reports.
