Agoda is hiring a Staff Software Engineer - Front End (Bangkok based, Relocation provided)

About the Role

Lead the development and optimization of front-end systems in a fast-paced environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, user-centric web solutions using current frameworks and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable user interfaces for web platforms
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to define technical requirements
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making
  • Optimize applications for performance and reliability
  • Ensure compatibility across browsers and devices
  • Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues
  • Stay current with evolving front-end technologies and standards
  • Support deployment and monitoring processes
  • Contribute to accessibility and internationalization efforts
  • Work with backend services to integrate APIs
  • Improve development workflows and tooling
  • Promote best practices in front-end engineering
  • Drive initiatives to enhance user experience
  • Participate in agile development cycles
  • Evaluate and adopt new frameworks when beneficial
  • Ensure code quality through automated testing
  • Collaborate on system scalability and maintainability
  • Support incident response and on-call rotations
  • Lead proof-of-concept projects
  • Document technical designs and decisions
  • Contribute to platform security practices
  • Engage in continuous learning and knowledge sharing
  • Work on high-traffic customer-facing applications

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in computer science or related field
  • Experience with micro-frontend architectures
  • Familiarity with server-side rendering techniques
  • Knowledge of GraphQL
  • Experience with design systems
  • Background in A/B testing frameworks
  • Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools
  • Understanding of security best practices in front-end code
  • Experience working in agile environments

  • Public speaking or conference participation
