Responsibilities
- Develop AI products that enable studio operators to automate their operations, allowing them to focus on their most passionate business aspects.
- Create agentic loops that enhance the product, codebase, internal systems, and our ability to deliver for customers.
- Position the company to maximize the benefits of advancing AI models.
- Simplify infrastructure and operations to accelerate both human and agent engineers.
- Enhance operational rigor and automated safety nets for detecting, alerting on, and responding to production issues.
- Work across the full stack using TypeScript, Node, NestJS, React, and Postgres to ship features and improvements daily.
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, and collaborate with engineering leadership to establish patterns adopted by the entire team.
- Take accountability not only for personal output but also for how you help the team deliver more.
Requirements
- Typically 8+ years of software engineering experience, though evidence of capability is more important than years.
- Full-stack contributor with deep expertise in some area, but must contribute across the stack; not suitable for those wanting to work in only one layer.
- Background in JavaScript and TypeScript; fluency and comfort in JS/TS are required, even if coming from an adjacent ecosystem.
- AI-native: actively uses AI tooling in daily work and builds agentic workflows, evals, and automation into team operations, not just coding assistants.
- Scope of impact beyond a single team, influencing how engineering works in an organization of roughly 20+ engineers.
- Track record of leading successful migrations.
- Experience designing systems for reliability, including observability, alerting, and incident response.
- History of influencing beyond personal work, including setting technical direction, establishing patterns others adopt, and raising the bar through code review, pairing, and mentorship.
- Strong product judgment: ability to take an ambiguous customer problem, scope it pragmatically, and ship in small increments.
- Comfort operating with high autonomy and low process, creating the right amount of structure rather than waiting for it.

Hybrid — NYC office in NoHo, 3 days per week
Other

- This role is hybrid 3x a week to our NYC office in NoHo.
- You Should Apply If: You want to build for small business owners and care about how your work shows up in their day to day; You want to stay hands-on at the staff level and go deeper as an IC, not move into management; You are drawn to the mission of making wellness more accessible.

This role is IC by design; You want to work in one layer of the stack only; You'd want to move us onto a different language or ecosystem; You see AI tooling as a nice-to-have rather than a core part of how you work; You want clearly scoped tickets, a defined roadmap, and a design doc before code; You want a slower pace or a more established later-stage environment.
