About the Role

Washington University in St Louis seeks a part-time Staff Optometrist to join its Ophthalmology department. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients within the WashU Eye Center, delivering direct patient care and contributing to our mission of excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate and treat patients, including performing refractive exams and emergency exams.
  • Conduct contact lens fitting and dispensing.
  • Evaluate and manage medical diseases of the eye.
  • Discuss and interpret findings with patients and suggest appropriate remedies.
  • Adhere to established compliance guidelines for coding patient services and diagnoses.
  • Follow established quality, safety, and hazardous material procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Ophthalmology.

What We're Looking For

  • M.D. - Doctor Of Medicine - Optometry.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Valid Optometrist license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation or the Missouri Division of Professional Registration.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with the Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Strong detail-oriented approach.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.

Team & Environment

You will report directly to the Director of Ophthalmology.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation range: $59.25 - $94.76 per hour.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position.
