Western Digital is seeking a Staff Engineer, Quality Assurance Engineering to safeguard product quality in our HSA/HDD manufacturing. You will play a critical role in ensuring no SV1-CFM defects reach our customers while collaborating closely with engineering teams to refine our processes.
What You'll Do
- Ensure there is no SV1-CFM defect escape to the customer for HSA/HDD products.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to define SV1-CFM parameters.
- Work with engineering to define the best process control for SV1-CFM parameters.
- Maintain SF Quality KPI through the use of VFC and Smart Quality.
- Support internal and external customers on defect characterization and improvement based on feedback.
- Assure any wafer or substrate deviation or qualification is communicated properly to the BE team to manage shipment and logistic control.
- Review qualification data with the team before releasing wafer shipment.
- Assure that all documents related to SF processes are in compliance and exceed expectations.
- Assure that appropriate tools like 8D, FMEA, SPC, and lesson learn are correctly used to maintain product quality.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Science, Chemistry, Production, or an equivalent field.
Nice to Have
- Work experience in the HDD business, especially with the slider fabricate process.
