The FSQ Supervisor at Jack Link's Protein Snacks plays a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality across all shifts. Responsible for testing product samples and managing quality systems, this position ensures compliance with company protocols and federal regulations while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Test moisture, water activity, and fat analysis on all samples taken
- Ensure product meets company and regulatory standards
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate facility quality systems functions related to Quality and Food Safety objectives
- Conduct audit/training sessions to achieve Quality and Food Safety objectives
- Develop duties and direct activities of QA staff
- Follow up on the quality, quantity, and accuracy of QA staff work
- Contribute to the plant's continual improvement effort
- Assist FSQ Manager in ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory issues
- Fulfill product exporting requirements
- Work with agency personnel and respond to issues in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with 9 CFR, Chapter III, Part 417 – Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Systems
- Ensure compliance with 9 CFR, Chapter III, Part 416 – Sanitation
- Ensure process control and laboratory compliance
- Ensure specification database accuracy
- Monitor net weight, take corrective actions, and maintain record keeping and reporting
- Investigate consumer complaints, take corrective actions, and maintain record keeping and reporting
- Monitor Return-to-Vendor (RTV) items, investigate issues, determine disposition, and follow up with corrective action, record keeping, and reporting
- Investigate defective material, take corrective actions, and maintain record keeping and reporting
- Ensure compliance with raw material and supply, and final product Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) standards
- Monitor and manage Quality Systems Laboratory capable of conducting chemical testing of in-process and finished products
- Audit operational records for content and accuracy
- Compile, store, and retrieve Production/Quality data, including process monitoring, testing, verification, and corrective action
- Assist FSQ Manager and SQF Practitioner with SQF implementation and communication to ensure objectives are met and certification is maintained
- Successfully complete the SQF training course
- Participate in the internal QMS audit program
- Assist FSQ Manager with product research and development projects to ensure test objectives are met and new products are implemented smoothly during scale-up
- Perform activities of workers supervised
