Role Overview
As a Telephone Verification Operator, you'll play a key role in the evaluation of life and health insurance applications by conducting outbound calls from home. Your work will directly influence underwriting outcomes by verifying applicant information and ensuring data accuracy before final decisions are made.
Key Responsibilities
- Place outbound calls to applicants to confirm personal and medical details needed to process insurance applications
- Use internal databases to assess what additional verification may be required and document findings accurately
- Explain the verification process clearly and professionally to applicants
- Complete necessary documentation and follow proper procedures for data entry and recordkeeping
- Coordinate with management on case updates and database actions
- Route calls to appropriate internal teams when further assistance is needed
- Meet or exceed performance benchmarks tied to accuracy, productivity, and quality
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a remote setting.
- Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation—patient, responsive, and empathetic
- Proficiency with computers, keyboard navigation, and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to stay focused under pressure and manage time effectively
- Highly organized with a commitment to accuracy
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
