Jobgether is looking for a Staff Data Engineer to take a leadership role in shaping and evolving a large-scale data platform that supports critical business operations. You will design scalable and reliable data systems, set engineering standards, and mentor engineers across multiple teams, collaborating with product, engineering, and analytics leaders.
What You'll Do
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable data platforms, ensuring reliability and performance across all data systems.
- Define and evangelize data engineering best practices, tools, and design patterns for company-wide adoption.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design services that produce clean, structured, and reliable data.
- Solve complex technical challenges including platform performance, data governance, and cost optimization.
- Mentor engineers across teams through workshops, design reviews, and one-on-one guidance.
- Drive technical decisions and initiatives across multiple teams, acting as a thought leader in data strategy.
- Evaluate, select, and integrate new data technologies to address business and technical challenges.
What We're Looking For
- 8–12+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering.
- Strong technical leadership and architecture experience.
- Expertise in designing and scaling large-scale cloud data platforms (GCP/BigQuery preferred).
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, transformation frameworks (e.g., DBT), and ETL/ELT patterns.
- Experience with event streaming technologies (e.g., Segment) and complex data ecosystems.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams, build consensus, and lead large initiatives without direct authority.
- Excellent collaboration skills with senior leaders in Product, Engineering, and Analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to solve ambiguous, complex problems and improve engineering velocity and quality.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to design foundational systems for long-term business needs.
