As a Staff Back-End Engineer specializing in Node.js, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical foundation of our consumer-facing platforms. You'll lead architectural decisions, guide engineering teams, and ensure the delivery of robust, scalable solutions that power critical services for millions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems within a microservices architecture using Node.js and related frameworks
- Lead technical reviews, mentor engineers, and elevate team capabilities through hands-on collaboration
- Drive improvements in code quality, system reliability, and development workflows
- Collaborate on the creation and execution of the technical roadmap, aligning with product goals
- Evaluate emerging technologies and implement solutions that enhance performance and scalability
- Conduct feasibility analyses and prototype new capabilities to support product innovation
- Support recruitment by participating in technical interviews and identifying top-tier talent
- Contribute to intellectual property development through inventive problem-solving
- Optimize engineering standards, tooling, and processes to support rapid, sustainable growth
What You Bring
- Minimum of 10 years in backend development with strong command of Node.js, Express.js, and Nest.js
- Proven experience with MongoDB, RESTful APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, and Redis in production environments
- Deep understanding of web architecture, distributed systems, and security practices including HTTPS and digital signatures
- Proficiency in Git, CI/CD practices, and test-driven development
- Experience building full-stack applications with modern JavaScript tooling
- Background in A/B testing and data-informed development approaches
- Demonstrated leadership in technical mentorship and cross-team coordination
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
