Design and implement robust backend services using Node.js and TypeScript to support a growing, globally used platform. You will take ownership of key features, contribute to architectural decisions, and help scale systems that serve real-world user demand.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services that power core platform functionality
- Optimize database performance and ensure efficient data storage using PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Integrate third-party services and implement message queuing with tools like RabbitMQ or GCP PubSub
- Collaborate with frontend developers and product teams to deliver cohesive, user-focused features
- Write clean, tested code with an emphasis on scalability and maintainability
- Use containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes to deploy and manage services
- Monitor system health using observability platforms such as Grafana
Requirements
- At least 4 years of production experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and relational databases
- Proven experience building and maintaining REST APIs
- Familiarity with message queues such as BullMQ, RabbitMQ, or GCP PubSub
- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration
- Experience with testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha
- Strong SQL skills and experience with ORMs such as Sequelize, TypeORM, or Prisma
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Ability to take initiative, solve problems independently, and communicate clearly across teams
- Comfort working with Redis and monitoring system performance
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to microservices architecture
- Background in performance tuning and system optimization
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working with AI tools or LLM providers
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure management
