What You'll Do
Take end-to-end responsibility for foundational backend systems that power internal operations. You'll lead the redesign and enhancement of the administration BFF, ensuring secure, traceable, and well-documented API interactions. Drive improvements in the async task orchestration platform to increase system resilience and developer efficiency.
Scale the feature flipping infrastructure to enable safe, incremental rollouts across product teams. Analyze legacy architectures and define clear modernization paths—whether refactoring, rebuilding, or deprecating outdated components. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify pain points and translate them into high-impact technical initiatives.
Integrate AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT into development workflows to streamline coding, testing, and documentation. Promote engineering excellence by leading code reviews, improving test coverage, and sharing knowledge across teams. Provide expert support on logging, task management, and feature control systems to help developers move faster with confidence.
Requirements
- Proven track record in designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems
- Deep experience with Python and microservices-based architectures
- Strong command of REST, GraphQL, and OpenAPI for API design and documentation
- Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP
- Experience operating CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins X
- Working knowledge of message brokers including RabbitMQ or NSQ
- Understanding of security fundamentals: OAuth, JWT, RBAC, and secrets management with Vault
- Proficiency with observability platforms like Datadog and distributed tracing
- Strong emphasis on clean, maintainable code and comprehensive documentation
