Lago seeks a Staff Accountant to manage core financial operations and maintain accurate records for our e-commerce business. This role ensures compliance with GAAP and supports functions from accounts payable to inventory reconciliation, reporting directly to the Controller.
What You'll Do
- Create and process accurate invoices in QuickBooks, ensuring billing procedures are systematic.
- Support inventory accounting by performing reconciliations, resolving vendor discrepancies, and ensuring correct COGS reporting.
- Allocate payments to accounts payable invoices and match deposits to accounts receivable invoices.
- Manage both virtual and physical company cards, including transaction reconciliation and documentation.
- Oversee operations within Bill.com to streamline and maintain accuracy in the accounts payable process.
- Administer accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and adherence to terms.
- Monitor accounts receivable collections, follow up with customers, and escalate past-due accounts to the Controller.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and support organizational needs.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in general accounting or a similar role.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with other accounting systems.
- Advanced skills in Excel and/or Google Sheets for data management and analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage changing priorities effectively.
