Ensemble Performing Arts is hiring a Staff Accountant for a full-time remote position. This role is central to our accounting operations, focusing on full-cycle accounting with a specific emphasis on accounts receivable processes. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a remote setting, with a strong preference for candidates based on the East Coast.
What You'll Do
- Review and send customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain billing schedules and recurring invoices.
- Communicate with internal departments to resolve missing or incorrect billing information.
- Record and apply customer payments daily (checks, ACH, wires, credit cards).
- Reconcile cash receipts to bank activity and ensure proper allocation to invoices.
- Identify and investigate unapplied or misapplied cash.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up with customers on past-due balances.
- Assist in collection efforts for the rental fleet.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding account balances, invoices, and statements.
- Resolve disputes by working with sales, operations, and customer service teams.
- Reconcile the AR subledger to the general ledger.
- Prepare and post month-end AR journal entries, including adjustments for bad debt and accruals.
- Review unapplied cash, credits, and open balances to ensure accuracy.
- Generate and analyze monthly aging reports and provide status updates.
- Perform assessments of deferred revenue and ensure accurate revenue recognition.
- Assist with month-end close schedules and support audit requirements.
- Ensure all vendor prepayment transactions are properly recorded in NetSuite.
- Create and maintain allocation schedules for prepaid expenses.
- Enter month-end amortization journals for prepaid items.
- Reconcile prepaid expense balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Support the sales team on setting up customer accounts and validate credit applications.
- Ensure customer tax certificates and documentation are current and properly filed.
- Assist in developing and maintaining AR policies and SOPs.
- Identify opportunities to streamline AR processes and improve accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
- Support system enhancements and automation initiatives, including optimization within NetSuite.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in NetSuite as a primary ERP.
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.).
Nice to Have
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of AR processes, general ledgers, and cash applications.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Work Mode
