About the Role

Mercury Insurance Services, LLC is seeking a Sr Technical Product Analyst to play a critical role in enabling the company to be data-driven. In this position, you will analyze customer behavior, identify performance trends, and drive continuous improvements to enhance digital experiences across our insurance products.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze user engagement using SQL and Python, focusing on multi-raters, aggregators, agents, and customer behaviors in the sales funnel.
  • Drive product usability improvements by using data insights to ensure an intuitive and seamless user experience.
  • Collaborate with product teams to integrate user behavior data into the product roadmap, aligning with key business objectives.
  • Partner with engineering, business, and product teams to drive data-driven decisions and enhance product performance.
  • Ensure accurate data collection practices are followed and provide actionable insights into user behavior and product performance.
  • Build and maintain dynamic sales funnel dashboards using PowerBI, providing real-time insights into lead progression and conversion rates.
  • Implement and manage anomaly detection systems to proactively identify potential issues in user behavior or system performance.
  • Apply strong technical knowledge to solve complex product and UX challenges.
  • Take ownership of key analytics areas, including multi-raters, aggregators, and customer behavior in the insurance sales funnel.
  • Leverage insurance industry knowledge to provide meaningful insights and guide product decisions related to the sales process.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, data science, business analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, analytics engineering, data engineering, or data science.
  • 4+ years of experience in product analytics, focusing on user behavior, engagement metrics, and product performance analysis.
  • A proven track record of collaborating with product teams to establish measurement tools and processes.
  • A strong background in developing dashboards, reporting tools, and conducting in-depth data analysis to drive business decisions.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and building data pipelines.
  • Strong experience with data visualization tools, specifically PowerBI, to create and maintain comprehensive dashboards.
  • Expertise in relational and non-relational databases and data sources.
  • A deep understanding of ETL/ELT processes and tools (e.g., dbt).
  • Advanced data skills with the ability to work with large structured and unstructured data sets.
  • The ability to identify gaps and inconsistencies in data, providing actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking, comfortable working in ambiguous situations.
  • Experience in managing and communicating data strategies and models to internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data mining and statistical analysis.
  • Solid experience with cloud-based advanced data and analytics environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively conveying complex information.
  • The ability to interact and collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • A passion for data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement in analytics practices.
  • A demonstration of the company’s core values of integrity, customer focus, innovation, and collaboration.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in P&C insurance is preferred, but not required.
