As a Data Analyst specializing in Databricks, you will play a key role in advancing data infrastructure and analytics for the Department of Homeland Security. Your work will center on designing and managing robust ETL workflows using Databricks, PySpark, SQL, and Delta Lake, ensuring high-quality, timely data access for critical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines that support large-scale analytics and reporting needs
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues in Databricks jobs, clusters, and data workflows
- Apply CI/CD methodologies to automate deployment of notebooks and data processes
- Lead data cleaning and transformation efforts using Python and related scripting tools
- Build and refine interactive dashboards in Qlik and Tableau to support operational and strategic insights
- Collaborate with technical teams and government stakeholders to deliver data solutions aligned with mission objectives
- Support proposal development for federal opportunities, including RFPs and white papers
- Contribute to internal initiatives and professional growth programs
Qualifications
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience in data analysis, engineering, or business analytics. Experience with Databricks is required. The ideal candidate can obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust clearance. An active DHS Public Trust is preferred.
Additional preferred qualifications include familiarity with cloud analytics platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud; proficiency in SQL query optimization; and experience with ETL tools including Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, and SSIS. Background in law enforcement, logistics modeling, or operations research is a plus.
