S&P Global Inc. is looking for a Senior Specialist, Global Pay Services to take ownership of monthly and annual payroll operations for approximately 11,000 employees throughout North America. You will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll, ensuring compliance, and implementing operational improvements.
What You'll Do
- Support the processing and disbursement of payrolls on time with a high degree of accuracy.
- Plan, coordinate, and assist with payroll cycles across North America, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Handle payrolls for exempt and non-exempt employees paid on a semi-monthly and weekly basis.
- Conduct thorough review, analysis, and timely processing of monthly payroll in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Partner with team members and the payroll vendor to ensure accurate and timely filing and payment of statutory payroll withholding taxes.
- Partner with internal teams and the payroll vendor to ensure employee income from stock option and share grants is correctly computed and reported.
- Work with the payroll vendor to support accurate and timely processing of payroll-related journal entries and accruals.
- Resolve escalations by providing root cause analysis and corrective action for complex or non-routine situations.
- Review and resolve employee pay-related inquiries.
- Keep abreast of payroll regulatory changes, and review and analyze tax and legal regulations.
- Identify issues affecting the company and employees; work with Corporate Legal, Tax, and People teams as well as the payroll vendor to ensure resolutions.
- Consistently review existing work practices and recommend areas for improvement including workflows, vendor competencies, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in the implementation of improvements and enhancements, working independently with all stakeholders.
- Assist with responses to all payroll-related audits, both internal and external.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Prior payroll experience required; preference for experience in a multi-national company.
- Highly organized and capable of working under time constraints to meet tight deadlines.
- Extensive knowledge of Excel, including use of pivot tables.
- Ability to accurately manipulate and move data to and from a variety of sources across multiple platforms.
- This role will require working East Time hours.
- Right to work in the United States.

- Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or Accountancy.
