About the Role

Northrop Grumman is hiring a Sr Principal Scrum Master – Lead Scrum Master to serve as the Agile leader for the C2BMC Battle Management Sensor Resource Management (BM/SRM) Product Team. You will report directly to the Product Owner and coordinate execution across four Scrum teams within this critical DoD software product area.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate closely with team Scrum Masters and development teams during iteration planning and sprint execution.
  • Help ensure backlog readiness, work decomposition, execution, and tracking.
  • Consistently apply Agile practices across teams and support coordination among multiple teams.
  • Mentor the Scrum Masters supporting each team, facilitate cross-team collaboration, and assist in identifying and removing impediments.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 8 years of experience; a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience; or 12 years of relevant work experience.
  • A current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application.
  • Strong background supporting software engineering on DoD programs.
  • Previous experience as a software engineer, systems engineer, or other technical contributor supporting a software development team.
  • Experience working as a Scrum Master in Agile software development teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
  • Experience coordinating work across multiple Scrum teams.
  • Experience using Atlassian tools, such as Jira and Confluence, to support Agile teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience as a technical lead or senior developer in a software development organization.
  • Experience with modern software development practices like CI/CD pipelines, version control workflows, and automated testing.
  • Experience breaking down Agile features into user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
  • Experience leading Agile teams supporting complex DoD software systems.
  • Experience in Agile coaching.
  • Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
