Gilead Sciences, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Manager, Commercial Planning to lead and manage critical supply chain operations. You will be responsible for material purchase, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and stores functions, ensuring objectives are met within budget and timelines.
What You'll Do
- Manage operations and personnel to accomplish company objectives in accordance with budget and timelines.
- Plan and implement activities related to material purchase, control, inventory, shipping/receiving, and stores.
- Implement and assist with the development of Supply Chain policies, procedures, techniques, standards, and systems.
- Prepare project plans and manage projects to successful and timely completion.
- Coordinate with other departments and external parties to maintain inventories at planned levels.
- Negotiate large contracts with suppliers/vendors and monitor cost, schedule, and performance.
- Provide leadership and act as a primary contact for external clients and internal cross-functional teams.
- Support Continuous Improvement by seeking ways to enhance Supply Chain processes and performance.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of relevant experience and a BS/BA; OR 6+ years and an MA/MBA.
- Able to develop solutions to a wide range of complex problems, requiring regular use of ingenuity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work both independently and in a team environment, supporting multiple activities simultaneously.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Solid knowledge of industry practices and relevant principles, concepts, and standards.
- Solid knowledge of relevant regulatory guidance, including pharmaceutical GMPs and ICH Q7A.
- Advanced knowledge and skill with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and other reporting/tracking tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the financial aspects of Supply Chain operations.
- Demonstrates proficiency across multiple practices within the Supply Chain department.

- Experience in a pharmaceutical operations/cGMP environment.
