EX Squared is hiring a Senior Insurance Accountant to oversee critical accounting and financial reporting functions. This senior-level position demands precision and in-depth knowledge of industry-specific accounting principles.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and review complex financial statements in accordance with GAAP and statutory insurance accounting standards
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Perform detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts and analyze ledger variances
- Oversee premium and claims accounting, loss reserve analysis, and reinsurance reporting
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance financial controls and reporting efficiency
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial examinations
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within the property & casualty or life insurance industry
- Expert knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) and GAAP as they apply to insurance
- Proven experience with premium, claims, and reinsurance accounting cycles
- Strong proficiency with major accounting software and advanced Excel skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation or active progress toward certification is preferred
