BioMarin is seeking a Senior Field Clinical Coordinator-PKU in Detroit. This role uses BioMarin-approved materials to educate patients on the safe and appropriate use of our marketed therapies. You will collaborate closely with assigned clinics and the BioMarin account team to support therapy initiation and ongoing patient care for 50-60 PKU patients in a designated geographical region.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with assigned clinics, BioMarin field sales, and RareConnections to ensure timely therapy initiation and adherence-related activities.
- Collaborate within an account team to move cases from referral through specialty pharmacy shipment to product start.
- Conduct patient-level education for new starts, covering product information, disease state, injection training, and clinic-specific protocols.
- Provide in-person support for self-administration of FDA-approved BioMarin therapies as needed.
- Utilize motivational interviewing skills to empower patients to advocate for their own health needs.
- Provide reminders for medication, labs, and clinic appointments at times convenient to patients.
- Conduct ongoing patient education on disease and product administration technique.
- Participate in direct-to-patient educational events to raise awareness of disease state and appropriate therapies.
- Influence beyond your geography and contribute to the advancement of cross-functional teams.
- Generate and communicate best practices and help shape strategy and implementation through projects and initiatives.
- Uncover obstacles and trends to create widely adopted solutions.
- Contribute to regional and national assignments such as training and education initiatives.
- Regularly take on formal and informal peer leadership opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of Pharmaceutical experience as a patient educator.
- 4+ years of direct patient care experience in rare disease.
- Education as an allied health care professional.
- Successful background check.
- Valid Driver’s license and driving record.
- Requires travel, up to 65% of the work week.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health preferred or equivalent work experience.

Work Mode
This role is based out of your home in the Detroit area, supporting patients in a designated geographical region.
