Sedgwick is looking for a Sr. Claims Specialist, Veterinary Claims | Professional Liability to take on a key role in managing complex and technically difficult claims. You will be responsible for the full claim lifecycle, from investigation to resolution, while ensuring high levels of customer service and cost containment.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and process complex or technically difficult veterinary professional liability claims by investigating and gathering information to determine exposure.
- Manage claims through well-developed action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution.
- Conduct or assign full investigation and provide reports on new events, claims, and legal actions.
- Negotiate claim settlement up to designated authority level and recommend settlement strategies.
- Calculate and assign timely and appropriate reserves; monitor reserve adequacy throughout the claim life.
- Coordinate legal defense by assigning attorneys, coordinating investigation support, and reviewing invoices.
- Use cost containment techniques and strategic vendor partnerships to reduce overall claim costs.
- Identify and investigate for possible fraud, subrogation, contribution, and recovery opportunities.
- Represent the company in depositions, mediations, and trial monitoring as needed.
- Communicate claim activity with the client and maintain professional client relationships.
- Ensure claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct.
- Delegate work and mentor assigned staff.
- Support the organization's quality program(s).
What We're Looking For
- Six (6) years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Licenses as required.
- Professional certification as applicable to line of business.
Technical Stack
- Microsoft Office products.
