Responsibilities
- Generate, update, and finalize invoices for all contract categories, managing distribution and approval coordination
- Submit monthly client invoices by established deadlines
- Collaborate with project teams to accelerate billing workflows and secure necessary approvals
- Create Excel-based invoices in client-specified formats, often involving automated templates that prompt for required inputs
- Develop standardized billing procedures, workflows, and supporting documentation
- Identify and correct billing discrepancies by reconciling invoiced amounts with actual costs
- Investigate and process final closeout invoices for all contract types
- Provide guidance and training to team members as required
- Carry out additional duties relevant to the role as assigned
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain security clearance
- Associate's degree or equivalent in accounting or related field
- Minimum of six years of directly related experience
- At least five years of experience with government contracts
- A minimum of three years in billing roles
- Familiarity with all facets of client invoicing requirements
- Knowledge of budgeting and invoicing cycles, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to apply strategic and analytical problem-solving techniques
- Demonstrated communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities, including in-depth understanding of contract terms related to invoicing and payment
Nice to Have
- Willingness and ability to travel to office locations up to 10% of the time
- Eight or more years of experience in government contracting
- Prior experience using Costpoint
- Familiarity with federal billing systems and online portals
