Jobgether is hiring a Sr Assessment Designer to lead the development of high-quality assessment content in specialized subject areas like ELA. In this remote role, you will manage item creation, test assembly, content review, and scoring processes, while providing leadership and training to a team dedicated to impactful K-12 education.
What You'll Do
- Lead development of assessment items, passages, and test materials, ensuring alignment with standards, frameworks, and program needs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to internal teams, vendors, and educators on best practices in item creation and content quality.
- Facilitate development meetings, workshops, and review committees to coordinate project activities and approve key deliverables.
- Contribute to test design innovations, prototypes, and research-based assessment practices.
- Track project progress, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and organizational requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate decisions, impacts, and progress throughout the assessment lifecycle.
- Support training and professional development for staff, mentoring new and existing team members in content creation and assessment processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, processes, and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- BS or BA in a relevant field (e.g., English Language Arts, Education).
- Minimum of 5 years K-12 classroom teaching experience.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in educational assessment development, including test design, item creation, and scoring.
- Subject-matter expertise in a content area (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, etc.).
- Knowledge of assessment quality standards, psychometrics, and measurement principles.
- Experience with instructional design, training delivery, and staff mentoring.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to develop creative solutions to resource, scheduling, and process challenges.
- Familiarity with research design, data analysis, and educational measurement concepts.

- MS or MA preferred.
