Role Overview
As a Senior Affera Mapping Specialist, you will deliver expert clinical and technical support for advanced cardiac ablation technologies used in electrophysiology procedures. Your primary focus will be on training physicians and hospital staff in the use of cardiac mapping and navigation systems, ensuring safe, effective implementation across clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Train and educate medical professionals on the operation, application, and clinical benefits of cardiac mapping and ablation technologies
- Support the adoption of new procedures by demonstrating system capabilities and troubleshooting in real time
- Collaborate with sales and clinical teams to identify opportunities for product use and customer engagement
- Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders to expand utilization of ablation solutions
- Act as a field resource for technical inquiries, procedural support, and post-training follow-up
- Travel regularly within the assigned territory, including overnight trips, to meet unscheduled clinical needs and scheduled training sessions
- Advocate for safe, compliant use of technology while aligning with regional sales goals
- Share best practices and mentor peers to strengthen overall team proficiency in mapping systems
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must have a high school diploma plus eight years of relevant experience, an associate degree plus six years, or a bachelor’s degree with at least four years in cardiac mapping or navigation. A valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance are required, along with the ability to travel up to 50% of the time. You must be physically able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and work in clinical environments with potential exposure to radiation and infectious diseases.
Preferred Background
- Degree in nursing, cardiovascular science, life sciences, or a technical field
- Minimum of four years in cardiac catheter ablation, EP lab settings, or clinical sales support
- Proven experience in technical training or clinical education roles
- Willingness and ability to travel beyond 25% of the time
Work Environment
This is a local-city based role requiring residency in the Winston-Salem or Charlotte, NC area. While not based at a corporate site, you must be available daily within the territory to respond to clinical needs. Remote flexibility is supported, but regular field presence is essential.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $130,000 to $140,000, with additional incentive opportunities through a performance-based plan.
