About the Role
The role involves creating detailed designs for fire sprinkler systems in various building types, working closely with engineering teams and contractors to ensure systems meet regulatory and client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed plans for fire sprinkler installations in new and existing buildings
- Use design software to produce accurate system layouts and schematics
- Ensure all designs comply with current fire safety regulations and standards
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers during planning phases
- Review building plans to determine optimal sprinkler placement and coverage
- Calculate water flow and pressure requirements for system performance
- Produce technical documentation for installation and inspection teams
- Support site teams with design clarifications and on-site adjustments
- Conduct design reviews to identify potential issues before installation
- Adapt designs to accommodate structural or architectural changes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire protection codes and industry practices
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure component compatibility
- Assist in estimating material and labor costs for proposed systems
- Ensure designs meet client-specific requirements and project timelines
- Participate in project meetings to provide design input and updates
