About the Role
This position involves delivering speech and language support under the supervision of licensed clinicians, focusing on clients from early childhood through adolescence using remote platforms.
Responsibilities
- Deliver speech and language therapy sessions remotely under the guidance of licensed professionals
- Support treatment plans developed by supervising speech-language pathologists
- Conduct structured activities targeting articulation, language comprehension, and expressive communication
- Maintain accurate session notes and client progress documentation
- Communicate regularly with supervising clinicians on client performance
- Engage families in therapy activities using culturally responsive practices
- Use digital tools and platforms to administer therapy exercises
- Prepare session materials tailored to individual client goals
- Monitor client responses and adapt activities as needed
- Follow ethical and professional standards in all client interactions
- Participate in team meetings and case reviews
- Support data collection for client assessment and progress tracking
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of virtual therapy sessions
- Maintain client confidentiality in compliance with privacy regulations
- Stay current with best practices in speech-language support services
- Provide feedback to supervising clinicians on client engagement and challenges
- Support bilingual clients in developing both Spanish and English communication skills
- Adapt materials for Spanish-speaking families when appropriate
- Collaborate with caregivers to reinforce therapy strategies at home
- Respond to client needs with patience and consistent support
- Use standardized resources aligned with therapy protocols
- Attend training sessions to enhance clinical and technical skills
- Support smooth transitions between therapy phases
- Contribute to a respectful and inclusive client environment
- Follow all agency policies and procedures related to remote service delivery
Nice to Have
- Prior experience as a therapy aide or instructional support staff
- Previous work in teletherapy or remote education settings
- Certification as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant
- Training in augmentative and alternative communication methods
- Experience with IEP or therapy goal documentation
- Familiarity with pediatric speech sound disorders
- Knowledge of language acquisition in bilingual children
- Exposure to therapy for social communication challenges
- Volunteer experience in community health or education programs
