We are looking for a Specialist Translator to convert complex written material from English into a target language, focusing on medical, scientific, technical, and healthcare content. Your work will preserve the original meaning while performing cultural adaptation through transcreation.

What You'll Do

Read through original English material and rewrite it in a target language, retaining the source text's meaning.
Perform transcreation, culturally and linguistically adapting text for the target audience.
Use translation memory software to maintain consistency and improve efficiency.
Utilize specialist dictionaries, thesauruses, and reference books to find accurate terminology equivalents.
Employ appropriate software for the presentation and delivery of translated content.
Research phraseology to ensure correct translation.
Consult with subject matter experts in specialist areas as assigned.
Develop and retain knowledge on specialist areas of translation.
Review and correct machine-translated texts.
Ensure all translations are consistent with BMS style and terminology.
Proofread translated texts for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
Flag any issues discovered with the original English source material.

What We're Looking For

Mother tongue command of the target language and fluency in English.
A minimum of 10 years of professional translation experience.
Proven experience working with CAT tools.
Excellent proofreading skills.
Excellent working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Pro.

Nice to Have

A professional translation certification.
