Stride, Inc. is looking for a Special Programs Attendance Support Specialist to support Ohio Digital Learning School’s mission. You will play a vital role in reducing chronic absenteeism and improving student engagement, with a focus on special population students including special education and at-risk learners. This position emphasizes proactive outreach, relationship-building, and individualized support to help students and families overcome barriers to attendance.
What You'll Do
- Monitor and track daily student attendance using the Learning Management System (LMS) and Student Information System (SIS).
- Identify students demonstrating patterns of absenteeism, with a focus on special education and at-risk populations.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, intervention specialists, and administrators to design and implement individualized attendance support plans.
- Proactively reach out to students and families to provide encouragement, resources, and problem-solving support related to attendance barriers.
- Support families in understanding attendance expectations, Ohio House Bill 410 requirements, and the importance of regular engagement.
- Participate in attendance conferences and intervention meetings, contributing strategies to re-engage students.
- Document all communications, interventions, and outcomes accurately in student records.
- Assist with the preparation of attendance-related reports for ODLS leadership and state requirements.
- Contribute to schoolwide initiatives that promote a culture of consistent attendance, engagement, and belonging.
- Ensure all attendance support practices align with ODLS policies, procedures, and applicable state regulations.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Nice to Have
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in student/family support, school administration, special education, social services, or customer service strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Ohio attendance laws (including House Bill 410) or ability to learn quickly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an empathetic, student-centered approach.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse families, particularly special education and at-risk populations.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail in tracking, documenting, and reporting data.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional judgment.
- Proficiency with online systems, spreadsheets, databases, and virtual communication tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $40,000 base salary plus eligibility of a performance bonus.
Work Mode
This role operates in a local-country remote environment. Candidates must be located in Ohio.
