Cencora is looking for a Bilingual Reimbursement Specialist, Rare Diseases to coordinate prescription drug coverage and reimbursement for patients. You will navigate complex funding processes, managing cases with healthcare professionals and insurance companies to secure life-saving medications.
What You'll Do
- Communicate daily with the Program Manager / Associate Program Manager on new and existing projects.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of rare disease program offerings, including pathophysiology and relevant SOPs.
- Exhibit expertise in public/private and federal funding mechanisms and Rare Disease funding bodies in the US and Canada.
- Coordinate cases with physicians and healthcare professionals to prepare submissions meeting specific payer criteria.
- Coordinate and manage all aspects required to obtain prescription drug coverage for patients.
- Work with insurance companies, physician’s offices, and healthcare professionals to maximize reimbursement solutions.
- Navigate complex lobbying processes to obtain prescription drug coverage and reimbursement.
- Coordinate documents, submissions, and all related paperwork to insurance companies and public/federal funding programs.
- Implement Financial Means Tests as required to maximize patient’s prescription drug coverage.
- Coordinate pharmacy processes once funding has been obtained.
- Report all Adverse Events to assigned units/departments.
- Perform other duties and tasks as required.
What We're Looking For
- University degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in pharmaceutical, insurance, or healthcare-related industries.
- Previous experience in reimbursement and knowledge of public, private, and federal reimbursement.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in a Customer Service setting; OR five (5) years or more tenure as a Sr. Reimbursement Specialist.
- Professional, courteous, and efficient telephone manner.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Proven ability to organize time, set priorities, and multi-task to meet competing deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with patients on extremely sensitive topics.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is required.
