Freelance Independent Language Specialists Contract FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Clearance Requirement: Other Company Description Established in 1989, our organization is a prominent privately-owned technology and services integrator specializing in defense and government services. We provide customized solutions and reliable leadership to support national security missions globally. Overview We are actively recruiting skilled, professional multilingual interpreters to deliver over-the-phone interpretation services continuously (24/7/365). Our mission involves supporting disaster and humanitarian campaigns during both standard operational periods and high-volume emergency situations. Interpreters from all linguistic backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Essential Job Duties - Conduct over-the-phone consecutive interpretation between multiple languages and English for government representatives and individuals with limited English proficiency - Perform sight translation of written documents across languages - Conduct quality control reviews of translated materials - Execute additional responsibilities as required Minimum Requirements - Minimum one (1) year of interpretation training, education, or related experience - Advanced proficiency in English and target language (ILR scale 2+) - Fluent communication in both languages, including complex linguistic registers and colloquialisms - Ability to preserve speaker's emotional tone and communication nuances - Capacity to maintain appropriate interpretation speed and projection Preferred Qualifications - Experience interpreting for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster or humanitarian relief efforts Additional Information Work Environment - Fully remote work - On-call/as-needed basis Our organization provides equal consideration to all candidates without discrimination.
