About the Role
A technical sales engineer who guides customers through the sales cycle by delivering tailored demos, solving complex challenges, and collaborating across teams to design scalable solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with consultative selling to drive adoption and ensure successful onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Deliver expert technical guidance during the sales process, clearly addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify customer needs, uncover pain points, and design customized solutions.
- Conduct compelling product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and proofs of value that highlight key differentiators and business outcomes.
- Support response preparation for RFPs and RFIs, crafting technical proposals aligned with customer requirements.
- Build trust as a technical advisor and ensure seamless transitions to post-sales teams.
- Translate business problems into effective, scalable system architectures using the platform’s capabilities.
- Assist with configuration, integration, and customization in coordination with product and engineering teams.
- Provide initial onboarding assistance and help resolve technical issues early in the customer journey.
- Enable partner solution engineers, resellers, and integrators to independently support sales efforts.
- Lead training sessions, bootcamps, certifications, and collaborate on joint service development.
- Educate sales teams on product updates, technical features, and competitive positioning.
- Create reusable technical content such as playbooks, demo scripts, guides, and customer success stories.
- Track competitor offerings and provide actionable insights to shape product and sales strategy.
- Support peer development by mentoring and promoting a collaborative learning environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Solutions Engineering or Sales Engineering, preferably in B2B SaaS environments.
- Demonstrated experience delivering technical demonstrations, workshops, proposals, and proof-of-value projects.
- Knowledge of enterprise sales frameworks such as Command of the Message or MEDDICC.
- Strong discovery skills and a consultative approach to understanding customer needs.
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities, with experience presenting to both technical and executive audiences.
- Proven ability to work effectively across Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams in fast-paced settings.
- Solid technical foundation in APIs, integrations, DevOps practices, cloud platforms, and modern SaaS architectures.
- Experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP, and basic proficiency in SQL for data querying.
- Proficient in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, with familiarity in DevOps tools like Jira and GitHub.
- Hands-on experience with CRM and customer experience platforms such as Salesforce, Zendesk, or ServiceNow, and low-code tools.
- Familiarity with GenAI technologies including AI coding assistants, prompt engineering, and LLM-driven workflows like chatbots or ticket automation.
