Swiftly is hiring a Solutions Engineer

About the Role

Swiftly now has contracts with over 200 transit agencies, and an increasing number of these agencies are mid-sized and large. Our goal is to grow that number, and Solutions Engineers play a critical role by balancing agency knowledge with a strong desire to help our prospective customers. We are looking for junior to mid-level Solutions Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product demonstrations for transit agencies, operators, consultancies, and potential partners.
  • Collaborate with the relevant Account Executive or Account Manager to develop and drive agency-specific strategy, angle, and pitch to showcase Swiftly's value and address blockers.
  • Drive revenue growth by building and maintaining client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, creating strong business cases, and providing technical expertise to support sales.
  • Organize and conduct 2- to 3-day onsite workshops to train agency staff and demonstrate Swiftly's value for mid-sized and large agencies.
  • Manage pilot periods, including limited-time free access to Swiftly, to derive quantitative savings and results for building a business case for mid-sized and large agencies.
  • Quickly grasp complex engineering concepts and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build and sustain productive, high-trust relationships with agency staff and internal teams, offering technical expertise and support throughout the sales cycle.
  • Develop new tools and processes to help prove Swiftly's value.
  • Serve as a technical resource and domain expert for internal teams.
  • Provide accurate, relevant first-line technical responses during all phases of the sales cycle.
  • Share learnings and best practices with the Solutions Engineer team and others, identifying pain points and potential improvements for the function.
  • Represent Swiftly at conferences and events.

Compensation

US Salary Range: $120,000 - $155,000 USD. Canadian Salary Range: $158,000 - $164,000 CAD. Salary is one component of total compensation, which also includes stock options, competitive benefits, 401(k)/RRSP matching, and other perks.

Work Arrangement

Flexible work environment. Swiftly employees can generally expect to travel 1–2 times a year for in-person company or team offsites. Customer-facing team members and other specific roles may be expected to travel more frequently.

Team

The Solutions Engineer team works with Account Executives and Account Managers to ensure prospective customers can demonstrate immense value and impact from Swiftly's tools. We are responsible for being the transit domain and product experts on the Swiftly side, but also the voice of the prospective customer. For large and mid-sized transit agencies, we work with agency staff to build a qualitative and quantitative understanding of how Swiftly will be a worthwhile investment. We enjoy collaborating with agency staff from all departments, including planning, scheduling, operations, customer service, safety, and executive teams. Whether it's a one-on-one conversation or a presentation for 50 staff, Solutions Engineers help ensure that our prospective customers become our future customers.
