As a Solutions Consultant, you will play a key role in expanding access to life-changing communication technologies across an assigned territory in Iowa. Your primary responsibility is to meet sales targets by actively managing accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and guiding healthcare and educational professionals toward effective assistive solutions tailored to individual client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive revenue by conducting consultative sales calls, building trust with clinicians, institutions, and speech-language pathologists, and aligning product capabilities with client requirements
- Research and identify potential leads by analyzing regional needs, disability trends, and institutional landscapes
- Deliver informative presentations to medical staff, educators, and graduate students on the benefits and applications of speech-generating devices
- Prepare accurate quotes, sales documentation, and funding support materials to streamline the purchasing process
- Advise professionals and clients on insurance requirements and assist in preparing documentation for third-party payers
- Partner with internal funding specialists to accelerate prior authorizations and case approvals
- Maintain territory health through ongoing account engagement, clinical follow-up, and coordination of resources
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and maximize sales conversions
- Conduct regular performance and account reviews with management and stakeholders
- Stay current with advancements in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) technologies and participate in relevant professional networks
- Adhere to all HIPAA and privacy regulations in every customer interaction
- Submit timely reports on expenses, forecasts, and special projects
- Complete additional duties as needed to support team goals
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required. Candidates with two or more years of experience in durable medical equipment sales or clinical practice—particularly as a speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, or physical therapist—are strongly preferred. You must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, along with proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
Essential skills include strong presentation abilities, organizational awareness, and fluency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with MS CRM or other customer relationship platforms is advantageous. Project management background and the ability to multitask with precision are highly valued.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position based in Des Moines with significant travel throughout the assigned Iowa territory. You may work remotely on certain days, but regular field visits to clinics, schools, and medical centers are expected. The role demands adaptability, independence, and a commitment to ethical standards in client care.
