Motorola Solutions is hiring a Solutions Architect to own the technical execution for deployments of our Command Center software suite. In this role, you will integrate programmatic, technical, and business elements to deliver mission-critical solutions for public safety and enterprise customers.
What You'll Do
- Understand the technical requirements, concepts of operation, and overall solution architecture.
- Work closely with Pre- and Post-Sales teams to align requirements with customer solution needs.
- Lead and defend the project's technical and programmatic decisions.
- Identify customer expectation mismatches and work with the Project Manager to mitigate them.
- Tailor and apply change management and systems engineering processes.
- Work with customer and engineering teams when implementing solutions, including third-party applications.
- Assist Project Management in developing and managing costs and schedules by identifying technical risks and suggesting mitigation options.
- Participate as the technical counterpart to the Project Manager for third-party, customer, and internal meetings.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma, Associates, or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology.
- 6+ years of experience working in an Engineering or Technology environment.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely.
- Must be able to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contracts.
- Must pass a stringent fingerprint background check per CJIS Security Policy.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in a technical or engineering field, an Associate Degree in a technical field; or equivalent experience (+6 years) in delivering Public Safety projects in a technical role or enterprise-level technical deployment projects.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- High proficiency with drawing and diagramming tools (such as MS Visio or similar).
- Strong verbal and written skills; fluency in English.
- Willing to travel, occasionally up to 30% of the time.
Team & Environment
You will be part of the Software Deployment & Integration organization. You’ll collaborate with Project Managers, Application Specialists, other Solutions Architects, customers, software developers, and other resources.
