As a Software Intern in AI Compilers, you will play a key role in developing and refining compiler technologies that power advanced machine learning hardware. Your work will center on building and improving machine learning graph compilers and runtime engines, directly contributing to the efficiency and performance of the full system.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement components of a machine learning graph compiler to translate high-level models into optimized hardware execution.
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to co-develop solutions that align with architectural innovations.
- Profile and optimize performance across the software and hardware stack for critical machine learning workloads.
- Build tools and infrastructure for performance modeling and analysis to guide compiler decisions.
- Develop a high-efficiency runtime engine that manages execution on parallel compute resources.
- Integrate software capabilities into widely used machine learning frameworks to ensure broad usability.
- Partner with machine learning engineers to understand application needs and identify optimization opportunities.
- Explore and implement new ML models and operations that leverage architectural strengths for significant performance gains.
What We're Looking For
Candidates should be in their final year of a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with strong academic performance. You must have solid experience in C/C++ and a firm grasp of algorithms and data structures, along with strong analytical abilities.
Preferred qualifications include proficiency in Python and demonstrated interest in machine learning, compiler design, parallel programming, or computer architecture. Familiarity with high-performance or massively parallel systems is a plus.
Environment and Support
This hybrid role is based in Austin, TX, offering structured mentorship and the chance to rotate across technical teams such as firmware, verification, and systems engineering. The company fosters a culture rooted in collaboration, curiosity, and tackling complex technical challenges. As an equal opportunity employer, it values diverse perspectives and inclusive practices.
Compensation ranges from $50 to $70 per hour, inclusive of base and variable components, with no equity offered. A dedicated mentor will support your growth and help accelerate your professional development during the internship.
