Prematch is looking for a Software Engineering Manager for the Americas to build and scale our engineering team while maintaining a unique, high-agency culture. You will be responsible for growing the team and ensuring it delivers with exceptional speed and quality.
What You'll Do
- Manage 3-5 Engineers initially and hire 3-5 more, covering multiple teams and specializations.
- Provide feedback on product and technical specs to help engineers identify where to cut scope or improve quality.
- Grow engineers to take large, loosely defined projects and deliver them with little intervention.
- Jump into systems and code to debug customer issues, ship bug fixes, or improve developer experience.
- Propose and lead department and company-wide initiatives.
- Build out the team and continue scaling the unique engineering culture.
- Ship product changes and features as part of onboarding to learn how individual contributors work.
What We're Looking For
- A former engineer who has built impressive products.
- Experience building teams of great engineers.
- Enjoys coding and finds time to stay up-to-date on technology.
- Has ambition, courage, and follow-through to change things.
- Could have been a Principal engineer or was one.
- Thrives with a team of engineers who have ownership and autonomy.
- Believes staff and principal engineers lead by example and leverage.
- Optimistic about building a large engineering team that functions differently from the status quo.
Team & Environment
You will work closely with the Co-Founder/VP of Engineering and peers, reporting directly to the Co-Founder and VP of Engineering. The engineering team is doubling in the next year.
