Coder is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to guide a team of 5-10 software engineers in delivering a high-impact developer platform. You will be instrumental in removing roadblocks, fostering growth, and focusing the team on critical challenges.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a close-knit squad of engineers.
- Translate product vision into clear technical roadmaps and drive end-to-end execution.
- Hold a high bar for code quality, security, and performance, instilling best practices.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and GTM teams to prioritize customer impact.
- Remain hands-on by reviewing code, debugging production issues, and prototyping.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- 1+ year of experience leading engineering teams.
- A proven track record of shipping software to large enterprise customers.
- Experience contributing to or leading open source projects.
- A deep technical foundation in Linux.
- A deep technical foundation in Kubernetes and containers.
- A deep technical foundation in at least one major public cloud (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- A deep technical foundation in IP networking and HTTP fundamentals.
Nice to Have
- Significant professional experience with our technical stack.
- Prior work on developer tooling.
- Public open source contributions.
- You still carve out time to code, either at work or on personal projects.
