At Optum Tech, part of UnitedHealth Group, we are looking for a Software Engineer to join a team focused on AI initiatives. This role involves developing high-quality software, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to our product’s 2026 roadmap.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure timely project delivery.
- Utilize Cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP) and GitHub to build scalable applications.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Containerize applications using Docker for easy deployment.
- Write comprehensive test cases using the Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD) approach.
- Stay current with industry trends and participate in continuous learning.
What We're Looking For
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of software development experience with a focus on Spring Boot, Java, and React.
- 4+ years of professional full stack development experience.
- Proven experience with Cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Hands-on experience writing test cases using the ATDD approach.
- Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
- Experience building real-time data pipelines and streaming applications.
- Solid knowledge of AI, Azure services (EKS, ECR, MSK, Open Search, Logstash), and DevOps concepts.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile methodology.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
